Keeping it Local

Thank you for visiting the new website and blog for my campaign to gain the DFL endorsement and be the next State Representative for 58B.

If you have a chance to check-out my LinkedIn profile, you will see I have had a varied career to which I feel extremely fortunate. Starting in junior high, my goal in life was to join the Peace Corps and work to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS in Africa. But my sister, Patty, who is two years older than me, questioned my motivation when there were issues on which I could work here in Minneapolis and St. Paul. So when I learned about ACORN in a class of mine at the University of Minnesota, I realized that organizing at a neighborhood level was what I wanted to do. My sister’s comment to me changed the course of my life. While ACORN taught me everything by which I live in regards to the importance of community voices, community organizing and fighting for our fair share through systems change.
